Make the most of your Christmas Break - extended parking - Guests wishing to arrive early to spend the day in Stratford can park one car at Heritage Mews from 11am and check in from 3pm onwards. Guests can also leave their car parked until 2.30pm after vacating by 10am on departure day. Extended parking is subject to availability so please request in advance.

Christmas at Heritage Mews

Rental rates include utilities, fully controllable gas central heating, unlimited Wi-Fi internet access (password protected), bed linen, towels and private off-street parking for two cars. Maximum number of guests is three (plus one infant in a cot). Check-in is 3pm onwards and we request that the property is vacated by 10am on departure day. Guests will find a complimentary festive welcome tray on arrival and the cottage beautifully decorated for the festive season.

Christmas events in Stratford-upon-Avon

Stratford-upon-Avon Christmas Lights will be switched on at 4.30pm, with carols from 4pm, on Thursday 23 November 2017 with a special ceremony and the arrival of Santa Claus heralding the beginning of the town’s Christmas celebrations. There will be late night shopping in the town centre and an all day Christmas Market on Waterside, next to the Bancroft Gardens, until 8pm. The town's Christmas Lights stay on until the early hours of 6 January 2018.

CHRISTMAS MARKETS ~ from 23 November 2017 there will be Christmas Markets every Thursday until 8pm in Stratford town centre, on Waterside, and a Victorian Christmas Market on 8, 9 & 10 December in the town centre streets. On Fridays Stratford's Charter Market takes place in Rother Street and on Saturdays, Farmers' Markets (1st & 3rd Saturdays of the month) or Collectibles & Craft Markets ( 2nd & 4th Saturdays of the month) from 9am to 4pm.

Stratford's award-winning guided Town Walk (no need to book) takes place every day, including Christmas Day, and a Ghost Walk takes place every Saturday evening. For details and times click Stratford Town Walks.

The Royal Shakespeare Theatre is a pleasant ten minute stroll from Heritage Mews. Open seven days a week there are interesting Theatre Tours and a 36 metre high Theatre Tower providing spectacular views of the River Avon and Shakespeare's home town. Enjoy the very best of British food in the theatre's stylish Rooftop Restaurant, with stunning views. Don't miss seeing a performance of A Christmas Carol, the Royal Shakespeare Company's new festive show for 2017. This brand new adaptation of Charles Dicken's much-loved story is suitable for ages 7 years and over - children go half price. It runs at the Royal Shakespeare Theatre from 27 November 2017 to 4 February 2018. Shakespeare's Birthplace and three other Shakespeare Family Homes (New Place, Hall's Croft and Anne Hathaway's Cottage) are open every day except Christmas Day and celebrate Christmas from 1 December to 7 January. 16 November to 24 December 2017: Frankfurt Christmas Market, Birmingham: the largest authentic German Christmas market outside Germany. Open 10am to 9pm. An easy way to travel to Birmingham from Stratford-upon-Avon is by train - journey time about one hour. Christmas Market.

23 November 2017: Stratford-upon-Avon Christmas Lights switch-on in the town centre, at 4.30pm, with Christmas carols from 4pm, outside the Town Hall.

25 November 2017: Moreton-in-Marsh Christmas Market with over 50 stalls lining the High Street selling a great selection of Christmas gifts and food. Opens 9am. Christmas Lights Switch-On in the afternoon.

29 & 30 November 2017: Candlelight Coughton at Coughton Court (National Trust), near Alcester: 6pm top 9.30pm: Enjoy a traditional three-course Christmas meal in Coughton's Kitchen café and experience the house decorated for the Throckmorton family's Christmas before their celebrations start. 3, 9 & 10 December: Ragley by Candlelight at Ragley Hall, Alcester: enjoy mulled wine and a mince pie whilst local choirs fill The Great Hall with Christmas music, followed by a candlelit walk through the palladian state rooms. Tours start at 4.30pm. Enjoy festive events at local National Trust houses. Charlecote Park park is open daily in November and December (closed Christmas Day). Baddesley Clinton and Packwood House are open daily in November and December (closed 24 & 25 December), and dressed for Christmas from 4 December, with Baddesley Clinton lit by special candles. Upton House is open from Friday to Monday inclusive in November and up to 18 December, and dressed for a very stylish Christmas from 25 November. Court
is open to celebrate Christmas at Coughton from 25 November to 3 December with additional special festive events in December. See the house dressed for a traditional Christmas, enjoy Christmas lunch in the restaurant and festive shopping in the Coach House shop. At weekends there is a Christmas Market selling gifts, food and drink.

Visit Warwick Castle and enjoy Christmas at The Castle from 25 November to 31 December 2017. Marvel at the exquisite festive decorations and 20ft traditional Christmas tree in the Great Hall.

At Kenilworth Castle (English Heritage) on 9 & 10 December 2017, enjoy a fun Christmas weekend weekend for families, with story telling, crafts and Father Chritmas in his grotto.

Blenheim Palace celebrates Christmas from 24 November 2017 to 1 January 2018 (closed 25 December). The Formal Gardens will be lit with a trail of festive lights and The Great Hall, Saloon and Long Library decked with delightful decorations, The Great Court will have Blenheim Palace’s own Christmas trees adorned in twinkling lights. On 16 to 19 November 2017 enjoy Christmas shopping in style at the Living Crafts for Christmas craft fair with over 180 British designer-makers showcasing high quality crafts.
